- Stores generating $5K+ monthly revenue
How Free Plan Limits Work
Active Subscriptions Limit (500)
What counts as "active":
- Customer waiting for a product to restock
- Subscription created but not yet notified
What doesn't count:
- Completed subscriptions (notification sent)
- Cancelled subscriptions
- Expired subscriptions (older than 90 days)
Example scenario:
You have 400 active subscriptions
Product restocks → 100 notifications sent
Now you have 300 active subscriptions (100 freed up)
Email Limit (200/month)
Counts every email successfully delivered to customers.
Resets: 1st of each month at midnight UTC
What happens when limit is reached:
- Queued notifications pause automatically
- Dashboard shows clear warning
- Widget continues collecting subscriptions
- Notifications resume next month or after upgrade
Push Notification Limit (200/month)
Counts every web push notification sent (not clicks).
Resets: 1st of each month
Push notifications match email limits for simplicity, and 200 covers typical usage for Free plan stores.
Why These Limits Are Generous
Our Free plan beats competitors significantly:
| Feature | DemandLoop | Competitor A | Competitor B |
|---|---|---|---|
| Active subscriptions | 500 | 100 | 50 |
| Email notifications | 200/month | 100/month | 50/month |
| Push notifications | 200/month | Not available | Not available |
| Products supported | Unlimited | 5 products | 10 products |
Our philosophy: We want you to succeed on the Free plan. Most stores won't hit these limits. When you do, it means DemandLoop is working—and Growth plan makes sense.
Growth Plan Pricing Explained
Base Fee: $19/month
Covers unlimited usage:
- Unlimited subscriptions
- Unlimited notifications (email + push)
- Full analytics dashboard
- Attribution tracking infrastructure
Charged: Monthly recurring via Shopify billing
Commission: 2% of Attributed Orders
Only pay when DemandLoop drives sales.
How attribution works:
- Customer clicks link in back-in-stock email
- Customer completes purchase within 7 days
- Order is "attributed" to DemandLoop
- You pay 2% of that order's value
Example:
Order total: $100
Your commission: $2 (2%)
Customer paid: $100 (you keep $98)
Monthly Cap: $500 Maximum
You'll never pay more than $500/month total (base + commission combined).
Protection scenarios:
Scenario 1: Small store
- Base fee: $19
- Attributed revenue: $500 → $10 commission
- Total: $29
Scenario 2: Busy month
- Base fee: $19
- Attributed revenue: $10,000 → $200 commission
- Total: $219
Scenario 3: Very busy month
- Base fee: $19
- Attributed revenue: $50,000 → $1,000 commission
- Cap reached: $500 (you save $519!)
Why this matters: As your store grows, DemandLoop costs stay predictable. Even if you attribute $100K in orders, you pay maximum $500.
When Should You Upgrade?
Clear Upgrade Signals
You're hitting Free limits consistently:
- Subscription limit reached multiple times
- Email queue frequently paused
- Growing faster than Free plan allows
You want to measure ROI:
- Need to see which notifications convert
- Want to track attributed revenue
- Need data for inventory planning
You're leaving money on the table:
- Can't notify all waiting customers
- Missing sales opportunities
- Queue delays causing customer frustration
ROI Calculator
Example store:
- 1,000 active subscriptions (hitting Free limit)
- Average order value: $50
- Conservative 5% conversion rate
Without upgrade:
- Can only notify 500 customers (Free limit)
- Potential sales: 500 × 5% = 25 orders
- Revenue: 25 × $50 = $1,250
With Growth plan:
- Notify all 1,000 customers
- Potential sales: 1,000 × 5% = 50 orders
- Revenue: 50 × $50 = $2,500
- Growth cost: ~$69 (base + 2% commission)
- Extra profit: $1,181
The upgrade pays for itself if you attribute just 2-3 orders per month.
