Connect your Twilio account

Enter your Twilio Account SID, Auth Token, and phone number in DemandLoop settings. You use your own Twilio account — SMS costs go directly to Twilio, not through DemandLoop.

Customers opt in to SMS

The Notify Me widget on your Shopify store includes an SMS opt-in checkbox. Customers enter their phone number alongside (or instead of) their email.

Restock SMS sent automatically

When a subscribed product restocks, DemandLoop sends a personalized SMS notification via your Twilio number. Revenue from SMS clicks is tracked separately in your analytics.

Common questions

Do I need a Twilio account to use SMS notifications?

Yes. DemandLoop uses a BYOT (Bring Your Own Twilio) model. You connect your own Twilio account — this gives you full control over your sender number and SMS costs.

How much do SMS notifications cost?

DemandLoop does not charge per SMS. You pay Twilio directly at their standard rates (typically $0.0079 per SMS in the US). DemandLoop's plan fee covers access to the SMS feature.

Can customers opt in to SMS without giving their email?

Yes. Customers can choose SMS-only, email-only, or both. DemandLoop handles all combinations from the same Notify Me widget.

Is SMS available for web push subscribers too?

Web push and SMS are independent channels. A customer can be subscribed to all three: email, SMS, and web push. Each channel is opted in separately.

Is SMS notification available on the free plan?

SMS notifications require a Starter plan or higher. You can start a free trial to test the feature before committing.
